Welcome to the LImeseum and Roman Park Ruffenhofen
The LIMESEUM is a Roman museum that opened in 2012. It is located on the grounds of the 40 hectare Roman Park Ruffenhofen, an archaeological park. There, plantings indicate the location of individual buildings from Roman times. This includes the Roman Cavalry fort, one of many on the Limes, the outer border of Rome.
There is also a mini Fort in the Roman Park, a replica of the Roman cavalry fort on a 1:10 scale. In addition, a replica of the facade of a Roman house with an accompanying garden can be found in the Roman Park. The proven Reitersoldat December could have lived in such a house after his service time.

The LIMESEUM is a barrier-free house that also enables people with walking disabilities to visit.
In the museum, the small café offers visitors a place to pause. The multi-purpose room can be rented for lectures and external events in the evening (using the contact form).
You can find more information about the offers for school classes and the holiday program for children in August / September 2021 under Museum Education.
